Venice is hands-down, one of the most romanic cities on Earth. Whether you are planning a proposal, having your wedding, visiting on your honeymoon or just getting away for a vacation, you and your significant other will not be disappointed with this city! Wherever you go in Venice, there is always a museum or gallery of paintings and artwork that truly illustrates the history of this city. Not to mention, the most beautiful sunsets!

Venice is the capital of northern Italy in the Veneto Region. This city is built on over 100 islands in a lagoon by the Adriatic Sea. Interestingly, this place has no roads, only its popular canals, including one of its most popular attractions, the Grand Canal. Other distinguish must-see places include the Renaissance and Gothic palaces. As well as the central square and Piazza San Marco, which contains St. Mark’s Basilica, tiled with Byzantine mosaics. In my opinion, another attraction is the Campanile Bell Tower, stand on the top and oversee all the city’s unique red roofs.

So why is this city so romantic? We don’t even know where to start! We believe it must have something to do with the elaborate masks and costumes natives wear before the holiday of Lent for the Venice Carnival, which is perfect for any couple looking for some fun. Or maybe its the gondola rides that allow you and your significant other to have a private sail and share a romantic moment while seeing all the main attractions. Perhaps, it is the phenomenal theater performances or even the tasty authentic gelato that caters to anyones sweet tooth. Honestly, we actually think it is all of it! We suggest starting (or ending) the perfect date by taking your love to the Cantina Do Spade, the restaurant where the famous Casanova would take his woman for dinner and “woo” them.

Regardless if you take our suggestions or not, we believe whatever you do in Venice is romantic!
