Carleigh

1. What do you love most about weddings?
My absolute favorite thing about weddings is how unique they are to each couple. I love being able to walk around a wedding and notice little pieces of the wedding couple in everything from the cake to the decor to the song selection.

2. What inspires you?
It may sound odd, but nothing inspires me quite like a problem. Most of my creativity comes in the form of problem-solving, so a challenge really gets my brain going. Whether it’s something as simple as creating a dinner from what’s left in the fridge at the end of the week, or something more intense like a major wedding day mishap, I’m always inspired by and up for the challenge!

3. What is your background? (eg. education, training, etc)

I recently graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English from Schreiner University. After this, I actually attended law school for a brief time, until I realized that was absolutely not what I was meant to do. Lucky for me, I already possessed a passion for event planning thanks to three years of planning all of the activities for my university. Even luckier for me, I found Precious and her wonderful business, and now I can’t imagine myself doing anything else!

4. What are your hobbies?

I’m an adventurous and outdoorsy gal at heart, so if it’s outside or crazy, sign me up! A few of my favorites include hiking, biking, and kayaking. When I’m not adventuring, you can find me enjoying some more relaxed hobbies like reading, knitting, or exploring the Houston area with my favorite people.

5. What is your favorite dessert?

I’ve got such a sweet tooth, so it’s unlikely I’ll ever turn down ANY dessert. However, my favorite go-to is always birthday cake or cake batter ice cream.

6. What do you think is the most important thing a bride should remember on her wedding day?

I know this sounds crazy and impossible, but stop worrying about all the little details. Your wedding day should be all about celebrating your love and having fun doing it! The best advice I could give is to have a wedding coordinator. No, really! When I first began working weddings, I was shocked to see how much coordination of vendors, people, pictures, etc. is necessary on the actual wedding day. As a bride, you shouldn’t be worried about anything except marrying the love of your life and enjoying your time with friends and family! So whether it’s a family member, a friend, or a coordinator, I would make sure you have someone to handle the day-of stresses so you can enjoy your big day.

Carleigh will now be making regular appearances on our blog, at local events, and through social media.  So when you see her, please be sure to say hello!  You can also email her directly at carleigh {at} preciousnuptials {dot} com.
