“Certainly you can!” Says Sally Can-All, best friend to Nancy Bride after being asked if she thought Nancy could plan her own wedding. “You are a natural at throwing parties. Heck, everyone is always calling on you to plan birthday parties and gatherings. You are the go to person, you know, ” as she continues to boost her confidence level. “I don’t see the big difference. It’s only a larger gathering with a few more details. I say go for it. I’ll even offer a helping hand if you need it!” she says. “Your right,” says Nancy Bride. “This is going to be so much fun! After all, I’m kind of limited on the budget,” she adds. Sally chimes in, “Girl, we can do this. Hey, you can even iPod the reception.” Nancy replies, “Wow… we can really pull this off!”
Fast forward to the big day…
My solution:
If you are looking to save money on your event you should:
A — Get an honest assessment on what your maximum financial parameters are for you special day.
B — Immediately work on your guest list. Numbers are the derivative of the final product.
C — Consult a wedding planner at some point in the process. A trained professional would not let your wedding day investment have such a horrible ending.
Summary: Cut the guest list and keep the professionals!
